What does “intimacy“ look like to you?
There are tears streaming down a friend and I’s face, holding each other, mending our insecurities with tenderness. I’ll never forget that moment. Intimacy is ripping off the cellophane we encase ourselves in. It’s letting others see you for who you really are.
What are the most intimate objects you own?
What does 'body positivity' look like to you in practice?
Don’t compare yourself. Be nice to all of your fragments that make up your composure. Touch yourself more often.
What is your relationship with your creative outlet?
A damn roller coaster. Some days I feel like I’m on a roll and other days I feel like I’m not good enough. The inner turmoil of a creative perhaps.
Currently listening to?
A cornucopia of genres! As of late, the music that Habibi Funk Records puts out is the best thing that has happened to me in 2020.
Album or artist that most resonates with you?
The best pop album of our time - ‘So Sad So Sexy’ by Lykke Li.
A New York move.
What grounds you?
Looking at trees, but actually really looking. Watching their branches sway and listening to the leaves rustle.
Where are you finding inspiration right now?
Currently watching documentaries on different cultures and customs. Particularly Arab countries, they’re underrated. I never had the urge to travel to European countries like most. There is something about Northern Africa and the Middle East that is alluring to me.
How are you facilitating self-growth right now?
Spending time alone. Writing in my journal. I’ve been going for a night swim in the ocean. It’s empowering having intimate moments with the moon. Although, I remembered there are a lot of sharks in Florida so I stopped doing that...
Who in your life advances your internal expansion?
My brother. 100%.
What part of your body have you grown to appreciate?
My thighs! There is a scene in ‘Monster-in-Law’ when JLO is trying to fit into a dress and it wont go up past her thighs and I felt that.
I feel most secure when...
I take a bath - water makes me feel safe.
I'm currently working on…
a bead necklace.
I'm grateful for...
my mom and all her witchy ways.
